Well, Mardi Gras is now upon us! The King Cake is long gone, and in one more day's time, I'll look ridiculous walking around in public strewn in beaded necklaces!
As for those fastnachts, I refuse to eat them--I'm all about the dee-licious King Cake, and not the fatty sugared donut-wannabees. (Some grocery stores around here are even offering curbside fastnacht pickup service--as if you need them in an emergency and can't just go inside to pay for them)! Man, I thought that it was bad around here with the bread, eggs, milk, and TP during snowstorms! Come to think of it, they never offered THAT in ready-made bags curbside! I wonder why?
I often entertain myself by browsing the Hot or Not site. Every day I get clicks from guys who want to "meet" me. It's rare that I hear from one who doesn't sound or look like a total ass, so I just take it with a grain of salt. The local guys are totally abysmal, I don't know why I waste my time continuing to look at them! I've only clicked on a few guys in the past, and nothing special ever came of it. Today, however, I actually made the first contact with an interesting one (who lives halfway across the country and is over 10 years younger than me). The next time he logs on, he'll probably go, "HA! AS IF!!", like I'm quite fond of doing with most of them. (Or not--I'll let you know if anything actually happens)! ![]()
I did meet a cool one here the other week who wants to go 4-wheeling with me when it gets warmer outside. (Of course he's married--all the good ones are)! ![]()
Did you all watch the Super Bowl? I watched it to the end, despite having to get up at 4 AM the next morning. I was SO glad to see NY win! I usually root for the underdog, but I mainly picked the Giants because that camel told me to! LOL
As for the commercials, I really didn't get off on any of them. If I had to pick a favorite, it'd be the one where the mouse kicks the guy's ass over the Doritos-baited mousetrap!
I got a new computer that I desperately need to hook up. Finding the time to do this was key, but I think that I'll finally have time to achieve this in a day or two. Doing the data transfer will be the hard part. I have my uncle's external HD to help things along, plus a few pages of notes that I took when he gave me a personal demo at his office.
It's amazing how much technology has progressed in the past 8 years. The computer that I just got was like 29% of what I paid for the old one! Now, if only the price of gas would follow suit...
So, what have you all been up to?
My favorite commecials were the ones with the baby doing e-trades.
Especially the one where he bought the clown with "all that extra coin".
Hang in there Pimme, there's a guy out there somewhere that will
appreciated ya! You'll trip over the right guy when you least expect it.
As most Swedes have not been Catholics for about 500 years, and a lot of us
are not even Christian anymore the tradition of Mardi Gras and the
following fasting are forgotten. However we still have one tradition left,
and that is the consumption of the Semla bun especially on Shrove Tuesday.
Wonder why food traditions hold on longer then religious traditions?
